American Festival Chorus is currently a 290 member Choir that is directed by Dr. Craig Jessop, Dean of Caine College of the Arts, Utah State University. When Dr. Jessop stepped down from his position as director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in 2008, he moved back to Cache Valley, Utah and began his employment with Utah State University.

American Festival Chorus began some years before 2008 though. It was originally called “Northern Utah Choral Society” NUCS, and way mainly a community choir, directed by Dr. Cory Evans, overseer of Choral Music at Utah State University. When Dr. Jessop returned to Cache Valley, he reorganized NUCS from the ground up into a much larger choir with more intense repertoire (American Festival Chorus).
